Aesthetic fillings

In addition to amalgam fillings, there are now several options for caries treatment. Today, amalgam is not recommended as a filling material unless there is no other, neither because of its aesthetics, nor because of the way it is used to prepare the tooth, nor because of its composition. Amalgam contains mercury, which is a heavy metal and therefore harmful to the body.
We can fill the teeth with tooth-coloured light-polymerisation fillings. The advantage of these materials, apart from the aesthetics, is that only the carious part needs to be removed from the tooth and that there is no need to create a large retention cavity as with amalgam fillings, as the filling material is bonded to the tooth tissue by the so-called adhesive technique. These special un. composites are constantly being improved, and so they have better and better properties, such as better wear resistance, better edge sealing, a tooth-like colour, and so they are much better than amalgam.
We can also make an aesthetic inlay or onlay, which is made in the dental laboratory from an impression taken by the doctor or from the tooth colour chosen by the tooth colour key. They have a very nice aesthetic.
Inlays can be made of porcelain, plastic or, in the back teeth area, precious metal.
